ABOUT US

Uhuru Projects is a local NGO programme located in Arusha, Tanzania.
Tanzania is famously known for its beautiful nature, wildlife, Mount Kilimanjaro, and last but not least the white sand beaches of the Zanzibar island.
Uhuru Projects is a volunteering programme founded by Fred Longan Rein, with the motive of helping and changing his community.
UHURU STAFF MEMBERS




As the founder and owner, Fred is responsible for the overall management and running of Uhuru projects. His job consists in taking care of things running smoothly with our work partners from the different projects. Making contacts with new possible projects and also fundraising

Katrine is our representative from Denmark and the one you will have the initial contact with when signing up with us. She will be the one answering mails, phone calls and help you with everything you need to know.
If you are doing an internship as a nurse or nurse-student, Katrine who is a nurse, will be your special contact-person during you stay in Tanzania.

Bonniface Balele is our partner in Dar es Salam. He is responsible for our guest who wishes to do volunteering or internships based in Dar Es Salaam.


Monica Is currently writing her masters in Nutrition. Monica is our supervisor in Arusha and works closely especially with volunteers doing their internships with us, to makes sure everything runs smoothly. Monica makes sure that volunteers doing internships reach their goals for learning, and she is the one you can contact in case of any troubles at your placement.
Amina is taking a pause from her studies in medical laboratory work to explore other carriers. Amina is our other contact in Arusha. She is the one who will introduce you to your day to day life in Arusha. Amina will help to find your way around in your first days, and she will be taking you to you placements and show you around your neighbourghood.

Rita, Freds mother who is the Mama of the house in Kisongo outside Arusha where our volunteers will live during their stay with us.
Rita also runs Uhuru Kindergarden, from outside her church in Kisongo. At the moment 16 children, age 2-4 is attending our Kindergarten.
